Today I followed through with a decision that's plagued me for the past 2 months. I decided to drop the word music from the title. The blog has a new name and a new look but the message is still the same. My initial vision for this blog was to discuss hip hop related topics and promote underground artists. As time has passed I've noticed that I don't always want to post things that are directly music related. However hip hop is such an important part of my daily cultural experience that most things I do are informed by that experience. Everything I write for this blog comes and will continue to come from a hip hop perspective. I will continue to post and promote music that inspires and excites me, but with a focus on hip hop, design and art culture. For the people that have followed me from day one and those that are new. Thank you, it's really appreciated.

Bloggers On The Runway
Interesting story on CNN about the fashion industry embracing social media. It's great to see bloggers get recognized for the work they do to promote brands.

Lupe Fiasco - Enemy of The State: A Love Story
New Lupe mixtape dropped today. I think dude is a little salty about being left off the MTV Top 10 MC list and has an axe to grind. This should hold us over til the album drops... Or the next mixtape.

Think Outside The Can
After obsessively watching episodes of Design For Life featuring Phillipe Starck, I was reminded of a project I did when I was in University. One of my instructors presented us with a challenge. We were asked to design and build a 3 dimensional object out of affordable, recycled materials. We then designed a poster with a brief that explained our process for building the object and how it functioned. We were graded on how well the object functioned, the materials we used and the design of the poster. I decided that I would build a tv stand for my apartment using empty cans of Pringles as my recycled material. In the end the stand functioned, I got an ok grade and I used the object as a coffee table in my apartment. A success right?
